IAVE世界年會及亞太區域年會簡介

國際志工協會（IAVE）創立於1970年，為國際上第一個也是唯一的跨國志工網絡組織，在國際民間社會聲譽崇隆，於志願服務領域居領航地位。IAVE總部設於美國華盛頓DC，擁有55個國家作為國家代表，會員遍佈全球95個國家，其區域涵蓋北美地區、歐洲、拉丁美洲、非洲、亞太地區及阿拉伯國家等。IAVE並為聯合國「經濟與社會理事會」（Economic and Social Council, ECOSOC）的特別諮商（Special Consultative Status）團體，為各聯合國會員國統籌志工培訓和倡導志工精神。
自創立以來，每雙數年舉辦世界年會，單數年於全球五大洲舉辦區域年會，已成為聯合國相關組織、NGO及推展志願服務的各級政府及企業共同匯聚交流的重要平台，每屆皆吸引超過80個國家近千位代表與會。聯合國更在2001年1月在阿姆斯特丹的會議中，制定國際志願服務元年的開始；2011年在新加坡舉辦國際志願服務年+10的慶祝，在在地展現IAVE國際志工協會全球年會的重要性。 歷屆參與者為來自國際間、國家、地方，將近1,000位的領導者，為致力於公民社會組織(NGO)、基層倡議、商業、宗教、教育、政府的志願服務。IAVE近年來在專業志工領域的發展受到各國政府仰賴，近幾年協助雪梨奧運、韓國世足賽、加拿大殘障奧運、北京奧運及俄羅斯薩奇冬季奧運等大型賽事之規劃與諮詢。IAVE長年來倡導志工精神與專業志工培訓，對全球志願服務的推展具有莫大貢獻。 |

IAVE 兩年一度的世界志工大會（World Volunteer Conference）自 1970 年起舉辦，為全球志願服務文化提供了一個重要的交流空間，強調志願服務對於促進社會凝聚力的重要性。
每屆世界志工大會不僅是志願服務的盛會，更匯聚了全球多元的志工領袖代表，探討當前議題與全球趨勢，並提供思想領導、政策實務分享與知識交流的平台。
最重要的是，這場大會建立了情感的連結——許多參與者都說，他們初次見面時是陌生人，但離開時已成為朋友！

About the World Volunteer Conference IAVE’s biennial World Volunteer Conference, begun in 1970, creates a vital space within which to affirm a global culture of volunteering and the importance of volunteers to enhancing social cohesion. Each World Volunteer Conference celebrates volunteering, engages the widest diversity and global representation of volunteer leadership; considers current issues and global trends; provides space for thought leadership, sharing of knowledge and learning about policy and practice. More than anything, it creates bonds. Participants often say about the people they meet, they come as strangers, but they leave as friends! We encourage you to pay a close connection and begin making plans to join us!
