台灣志願服務國際交流協會(Volunteering Taiwan)與蘇格蘭鄧弗里斯和加洛韋議會的青年發展服務中心 (Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Youth Work Service)雙方的互訪交流志工計畫從2015年夏天開始,因疫情於2019年暫停,今年重新啟動!
During the summer of 2015, a group of young people from Taiwan came to Dumfries, where they met and worked alongside Dumfries & Galloway Council’s Youth Work Service and young volunteers. 來自蘇格蘭青年志工團共13位,一行人將於10月15日至10月22日走訪高雄及六龜,在台灣志願服務國際交流協會與六龜新開新發社區的安排下,前往六龜新開部落展開為期3天的國際志工假期,學習茶葉摘種與茶儀文化,向大自然學習,並與當地新發國小、尼布恩合唱團及社區居民共同協力進行志願服務和文化交流,其他4天將前往高雄美國學校、洲仔濕地公園、美濃客家文物館、旗山圓富社區、佛光山、旗津與高雄駁二,進行深入的在地文化體驗與交流,實踐志願服務無國界的精神。
We welcome a group of 10 individuals aged from 15 to 24 with 3 accompanying youth workers to kick off their volunteer and cultural exchange trip in Kaohsiung and Liugui during October 15-22. They are the Annandale and Eskdale Global Education Group from Scotland. Volunteering Taiwan and Xin-Fa Community Development Association have organized their itinerary for the week:
Three days will be spent in Liugui, learning tea farming, tea etiquette and tea culture in the ‘Hometown of Taiwan Mountain Tea’. Additionally, the group will lead volunteering and cultural exchange activities with students of Xin-Fa elementary school, members of Nibun Choir and residents of Xin-Fa community.
Four days will be spent in Kaohsiung. A variety of activities that cover a wide range of topics – including youth leadership conference, nature protection, sustainable environment, community service, culture, religion and arts – await the brave, young volunteers from Scotland!

第一天 10月15日 - First Day, October 15th
蘇格蘭青年志工團的Conlan、Hannah及Riley來到國立教育廣播電臺 高雄分台,錄製《Tea Time 時光》節目,與主持人Ruby互相交流蘇格蘭及台灣文化,並且介紹他們是如何投入青年志願服務,以及為了這次訪台之旅,做了那些行前準備,包含籌辦近100場的募款活動及參與每週一次的文化研討會,真是一場精采的文化交流饗宴!
晚上的歡迎晚宴,由Volunteering Taiwan的 謝惠玲理事歡迎蘇格蘭青年志工團到台灣來進行文化交流與志願服務,現場氣氛歡樂融融。
Conlan, Hannah and Riley from A&E Global Education Group arrived at National Education Radio (Kaohsiung Station) to record the program – ‘Tea Time’. In the program, they chatted with the host, Ruby, about Scottish and Taiwanese cultures and how they started being involved in youth volunteering. Most interestingly, they shared about what they did as preparations for the trip to Taiwan, including almost 100 fundraisers that they organized and implemented and attending the weekly workshops to develop their awareness and understanding of local and global issues, conflict, culture and team building activities.
In the evening, the board director of Volunteering Taiwan, Hui-Ling Xie, welcomed the group on their arrival and gave her best wishes to their culture exchange and volunteering service journey in Taiwan. Everyone was jolly and looking forward to the week ahead!

第二天 10月16日 - Second Day, October 16th
經過一夜的休息後,今早前往高雄美國學校(KAS)與該校同學進行志願服務工作坊,分享彼此的志工經驗,交流非常熱絡,蘇格蘭青年也帶來文化分享及舞蹈教學,歡樂氣氛充滿校園。下午則前往洲仔濕地公園參訪,了解高雄都市綠廊及其生態保育工作,在志工老師的帶領下,飽覽蓮潭風光。
After a night's rest, the Scottish youth headed to Kaohsiung American School to share their culture and volunteer experiences with the students this morning.
In the afternoon, they will visit the green corridor of Kaohsiung City, the Jhouzai Wetland, to learn about the ecological habitat and volunteer efforts.

第三天 10月17日 - Third Day, October 17th
蘇格蘭青年志工團一早啟程來到旗山圓富社區發展協會,阿公阿嬤們歡欣迎接,一起做手工藝,跳晨操,學用筷子。中午到阿嬤咖啡館烘焙咖啡,認識圓富社區及咖啡館的發展起源,享受阿嬤們親手泡的咖啡及做的鳳梨酥,認識當地和蘇格蘭緊密的歷史淵源,輕鬆卡拉ok時光分享英文及蘇格蘭歌曲。
餐畢則參訪美濃客家文物館,館方以英文導覽美濃客家文化,介紹客家人傳統文化及遷移歷史,講師運用生動問答方式,讓蘇格蘭團除了認識客家外,也可以同時比較自身文化及客家文化的異同。青年們也體驗紙傘DIY及穿上客家傳統服飾留下美好紀錄。
The young volunteers from Scotland set off early and arrived at the Qishan Yuanfu Community. The elders warmly welcomed them, and they engaged in crafting, morning exercises, and learning to use chopsticks together. At noon, they went to the Grandma's Café to roast coffee, where they learned about the origin and development of the Yuanfu community and the café. They enjoyed coffee brewed by the elders and pineapple pastries made by them. They also learned about the close historical ties between the local community and Scotland, while relaxing with some karaoke and sharing Scottish songs.
After lunch, they visited Meinong Hakka Cultural Museum, where the museum staff provided an English-guided tour about Hakka culture, introducing the traditional culture and migration history of the Hakka people. The instructor used interactive Q&A sessions to help the Scottish group not only understand Hakka culture but also compare the similarities and differences between their own culture and Hakka culture. The young volunteers also had the opportunity to try making paper umbrellas and wear traditional Hakka clothing to create beautiful memories.

第四天 10月18日 - Fourth Day, October 18th
蘇格蘭青年志工今日展開在六龜山茶故鄉的服務工作,這次活動也是高雄市政府農業局輔導社區青年發展{根留農村計畫}的一部分,為使新開部落能發展國際旅遊市場,特別規劃{歐洲國際聯合志工營}動員社區資源接待國際志工。今日在青農徐盛暘帶領下,志工們體驗採茶、揉茶、製茶及品茶過程,下午更投入茶園的除草工作,為六龜野生山茶理出自然農耕的場域。志工們第一次投入農事服務,都感到非常新奇,也了解社區居民與土地共生的法則。
Scottish youth volunteers initiated their service work in the hometown of Lui-Kuei Mountain Tea today. This event is also part of the Agricultural Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government's guidance for community youth development, known as the 'Roots in the Countryside Project. In order to develop the international tourism market in the community, a special 'European International Joint Volunteer Camp' has been planned to mobilize community resources to host international volunteers. Today, under the guidance of the young farmer Xu Sheng-Yang, the volunteers experienced the process of tea picking, rolling, tea production, and tea tasting. In the afternoon, they also participated in weeding work in the tea gardens, creating a natural farming environment for the wild mountain tea in Lui-Kuei. The volunteers, who were involved in farming service for the first time, found it very fascinating and gained an understanding of the principles of coexistence between the community residents and the land.

蘇格蘭青年們今日和六龜新發國小的小小茶藝師進行茶席交流,後與中高年級學童以足球會友,小朋友的球技及拚勁,讓這群大哥哥姐姐們驚艷,最後全校小朋友在青年們蘇格蘭簡報交流+音樂及傳統舞蹈交流下,結束愉快有意義的文化交流。
下午在新發社區的阿公阿嬤們也加入交流活動,長者們非常雀躍歡迎國際志工的來訪,社區也安排服務課程,青年除分享蘇格蘭傳統舞蹈,和阿公阿嬤互贈彩繪茶包,也在KTV時光學習臺灣歌謠。
今日行程滿檔,也是六龜行的重點,就是和六龜著名的尼布恩學堂〔音〕緣際會,由於兩個團體都是由青年組成,並且都有音樂才藝,雙方在進行彼此的文化分享後,即將準備好的音樂舞蹈展演分享,尼布恩的青年也熱情以布農族族服體驗、布農族圍舞及古調與青年交流。豐富的一天,讓蘇格蘭與六龜的人文風情彼此在築夢計畫中串流。明日待續...
Scottish youth had a tea exchange with the Junior Tea Masters from Liugui Xinfa Elementary School today. Afterward, they made friends with the students through a soccer game. The skill and energy of the young children on the field amazed these older brothers and sisters. Finally, the entire school students concluded a meaningful and joyful cultural exchange with presentations from the Scottish youth, including music and traditional dance.
In the afternoon, the elders from Xinfa community also joined in the exchange activities. The elders were delighted to welcome international volunteers, and the community arranged service courses. The youth shared Scottish traditional dances, exchanged hand-painted tea bags with the elders, and learned Taiwanese songs in KTV course.
Today is a busy day, in the evening, the highlight of the Liugui visit was the meeting with the renowned Nibuon Group. Both groups consist of young people with musical talents, and after sharing each other's cultures, they prepare to share their musical and dance performances. The Nibuon youth also enthusiastically introduced the Bunun tribal clothing, circle dances, and traditional music to the Scottish youth. It was a rich day that allowed the cultures of Scotland and Liugui to intertwine in the Journey of Dreams.

第六天 10月20日 - Sixth Day, October 20th
今天是蘇格蘭青年志工在新開部落的最後一天,社區特別規劃青年和阿公阿嬤一起做晨操和包水餃(最年長的阿嬤是100歲),阿公阿嬤都稱讚這些青年包得很好,除了提供長者及青年共餐外,也載去給社區獨居老人享用,中午蘇格蘭團吃很多自己包的水餃,甚至想回蘇格蘭將包水餃技術學好回去煮水餃給家人吃。在午餐後,道別時刻來臨,彼此擁抱祝福,依依不捨離開六龜,繼續往下一個旅程邁進囉。
下午前往佛陀紀念館參訪,這是全亞洲最大的佛教文化博物館,在導覽人員的帶領下禮拜佛陀牙舍利及觀看4D影片,除豐富的文化洗禮外,佛光山著名的素食餐廳滴水坊是不容錯過的美饌。
Today is the last day for Scottish youth volunteers in the community. The community has specially arranged for the youth to do morning exercises and make dumplings with the elders (the oldest grandma is 100 years old). The grandpas and grandmas all praised the youth for making the dumplings very well. In addition to providing meals for the elders and youth in the community, they also took some to be enjoyed by the elders living alone in the community. At noon, the Scottish group ate many dumplings that they had made themselves, and some even expressed a desire to return to Scotland to improve their dumpling-making skills to cook dumplings for their families. After lunch, time for farewell, they hugged each other and left Liugui with reluctance, moving on to the next journey.
In the afternoon, they visited the Buddha Memorial Museum, which is the largest Buddhist cultural museum in all of Asia. With the guidance of the tour guide, they paid their respects to Buddha's relics and watched a 4D film. Besides the rich cultural experience, the renowned vegetarian restaurant "Droplet Kitchen" at Fo Guang Shan is a culinary delight that should not be missed.

今日是蘇格蘭青年志工在高雄工作假期的最後一天,趁著晴空在這海洋城市盡情享受,一早搭乘渡輪前往旗津,享用美食之餘眺望旗津海灣,午餐完畢後,享受南台灣陽光及沙灘,玩沙灘排球,接著體驗台灣攤販遊戲(彈珠台等)及嘗試台灣刨冰,細讀旗津老街,途中和V Taiwan志工們分享交流文化,歡樂滿滿。
下午前往駁二藝術園區走訪,沉浸在藝術、文化及歷史軌跡中,逛逛駁二文創假日市集後,前往林皇宮與台灣志願服務國際交流協會(Volunteering Taiwan)全體會員及青年志工團相聚,這是協會特別為蘇格蘭青年舉辦的惜別餐會,雙方互贈紀念品,也為未來交流計畫許下承諾。蘇格蘭青年將於次日前往香港,拜會IAVE夥伴團體-香港義務發展局。
Today is the last day of the Scottish youth volunteers in Kaohsiung - the ocean city. the morning, they took a ferry to Qijin Island, enjoyed local cuisine as well as the beautiful scenery at Qijin Bay, After lunch, they soaked up the sunshine and played beach volleyball on the beaches of southern Taiwan. Following that, they experienced traditional Taiwanese street vendor games like pinball machines and tried Taiwanese shaved ice. They explored the old streets of Qijin, where they exchanged cultural insights with the V Taiwan volunteers, making the day full of joy.
In the afternoon, they visited the Pier-2 Art Center, immersing themselves in art, culture, and historical traces. After strolling through the creative holiday market at Pier-2, they met with the members of Volunteering Taiwan and the youth volunteer group at Lin Palace. This farewell dinner was specially arranged by the association for the Scottish youth, and both sides exchanged souvenirs, pledging future collaboration.
The Scottish youth will head to Hong Kong the next day to meet with IAVE partner organization- Agency of Volunteer Service (AVS).
